Ford and Rose have been organizing and running various tournaments and leagues in the Greater Puget Sound area for many years, and are well respected regionally and nationally for their work in the industry. Few top players, locally or across the country, men or women, haven't either met them helping run an event, or played in one of their many tournaments and leagues.
While they both played in the local BCA pool leagues for years, it wasn't until a few years ago (2008) that they decided to get involved as BCA League Operators. This was when Chris was brought in, as he was a friend who had helped in the running of a local BCAPL league himself, and is a National BCAPL Referee, as well as a Board Member and the Tournament Director for the Northwest Women's Pool Association, and the North American Pool Tour. By working together they had all the experience and contacts required to cope with the starting of a not-for-profit organization consisting of the many hundreds of pool enthusiasts that the Northwest is so justly famous. A few years ago Ford justly retired as a League Operator, and luckily Dave Lauer stepped in to try to fill his position. No small task and many thanks to Dave for his efforts.
The stated goal of the Players Club, Ltd, as well as the BCAPL itself, is to have as many players enjoying the competition, friendliness, and sportsmanship that organized pool can bring to everyone, from the beginner to the advanced level. While not every league is handicapped, every BCAPL event will have categories of various skill levels in which to compete.
